Dry verge is a roofing system used to protect the edges of a roof where the tiles or slates meet the gable ends making it another great product available within our range of fascias and soffits. The traditional method of securing the tiles or slates on the edges was through the use of mortar, but over time, mortar can degrade due to weather exposure and other factors, leading to potential problems like water ingress, wind damage, and the loosening of tiles. Dry verge systems address these issues by providing a mechanically fixed and maintenance-free solution. They consist of specially designed interlocking components that cover and secure the edge of the roof tiles or slates, eliminating the need for mortar.
UPVC Dry Verge
There are several benefits when it comes to UPVC dry verge, the primary purpose of a dry verge system is to protect the edges of a roof from the elements, such as wind, rain, and snow. UPVC dry verge components provide a durable and weather-resistant barrier, preventing water ingress, reducing the risk of tile or slate damage, and maintaining the structural integrity of the roof. Similar to the other products in this range such as the 9mm fascia boards and hollow soffit boards, another great benefits is that UPVC dry verge systems require little to no maintenance once installed. Unlike mortar-based solutions, there is no need for periodic re-pointing or repairs, saving both time and money in the long run.
