Double-Embossed Cladding
Duraklad double embossed cladding gives you a wide-board, wood-effect finish that covers walls fast — each 333mm x 5m board covers 1.67m², so a typical gable takes far fewer boards than traditional shiplap. The deep double-embossed grain looks convincingly like painted timber but never needs repainting.
Choose from eight colours — Anthracite Grey, Platinum Grey, Chartwell Green, Empire Blue, Sky Blue, Sand, Caramel and Cream — and finish the job with colour-matched 2-part edge trims, internal & external corner trims and H joint trims from the same range. Black starter and ventilation profile trims complete the system for a tidy, breathable installation.

Measure the wall area, deduct windows and doors, then divide by the coverage of the board — 1.67m² for a 333mm x 5m board, 0.75m² for a 150mm x 5m shiplap. Add 5 to 10 per cent for cuts. Trims are measured separately by the metre for every corner, edge and junction.
Timber battens fixed back to the wall, which create a ventilated cavity behind the boards so any moisture that gets through can dry out. Fixing boards flat to masonry traps damp against the wall. Use a starter profile at the bottom of the run and ventilation trims top and bottom.
Exterior-grade boards are made with UV stabilisers and hold their colour far better than a painted timber equivalent, which needs redoing every few years. Very dark shades on a south-facing elevation will shift more over time than a pale one. Interior wall panels are not UV stabilised and should not be used outside.
Wash it down once or twice a year with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and rinse off. That is the whole job — no sanding, priming or repainting, and nothing to rot at a cut end. Avoid pressure washing close up and keep abrasive pads and solvent cleaners off the surface.
