Why not real marble

Real marble in a bathroom is heavy, expensive to cut and fit, and needs sealing to stop it staining — shampoo and limescale mark it permanently. A printed board gives the veining without any of that, wipes clean, and can go over the tiles already on the wall.

Choosing the veining

Fine grey veining on white is the closest to Carrara and the safest in a small room. Bold gold or dark veining is closer to Calacatta and makes more impact on one wall than across the whole bathroom. Black marble is a feature finish rather than a background.

Sizes and joints

250mm, 400mm and 1000mm widths at 2.4m and 2.6m. The 1m board is worth the extra handling on a marble finish — fewer joints means the veining runs further before it breaks.
