Who Are REHAU?
REHAU is a privately-owned German polymer specialist founded in 1948, headquartered in Münchberg, Bavaria. Now operating in over 50 countries with 200+ sites and around 20,000 employees, REHAU is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of uPVC window and door profile systems — supplying fabricators, installers and trade merchants across the UK and Europe. In the UK they’re a Network REHAU member-base supplier, with their UK headquarters in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire.
Why REHAU?
| German engineering, UK fabrication | REHAU profiles are extruded to German specifications and fabricated by approved UK partners — combining engineered consistency with local supply. |
|---|---|
| Passivhaus-certified options | The GENEO and ARTEVO systems are Passivhaus Institute certified for low-energy and zero-energy construction. Few uPVC systems on the market hold this credential. |
| Heritage / conservation expertise | The REHAU Heritage Vertical Slider is purpose-engineered for Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian replacements — with three sash size options, deep bottom rails, triple brush seals and full traditional sash furniture compatibility. |
| Sustainability led | REHAU’s TOTAL70C profile contains up to 75% post-consumer recycled content. The company runs the largest closed-loop PVC recycling operation in Europe. |
| Strong security credentials | GENEO achieves RC2 and RC3 burglary resistance ratings without conventional steel reinforcement — using REHAU’s patented RAU-FIPRO fibre-composite material instead. |
| Wide colour / finish palette | Over 170 RAL colour options across the range, with foiled, painted and bonded laminates available. |

Distinctive Technology
RAU-FIPRO Fibre-Composite uPVC
Used in GENEO and ARTEVO, RAU-FIPRO is a fibre-reinforced uPVC composite that delivers structural strength without the conventional steel reinforcement that causes thermal bridging in traditional uPVC windows. The result: significantly lower U-values, no cold spots through the frame, and burglary resistance to RC2 / RC3 standards using the polymer’s own structural integrity.
Centre-Seal Design
GENEO uses a centre-seal (third gasket) configuration rather than the standard inner+outer seal. This delivers superior weather-tightness on exposed elevations and significantly improved acoustic performance — up to STC 45 (acoustic class 5) on appropriately glazed configurations.
ALU Top — Aluminium-Faced uPVC
An optional aluminium front-cover panel that can be specified on GENEO frames where the building requires aluminium’s weathering characteristics on the external face but uPVC’s thermal performance on the internal core. Used on coastal or exposed projects.
Closed-Loop Recycling
REHAU operates the largest PVC recycling network in Europe, processing post-consumer windows back into new profile through their PVC1 / PVC2 plant network. The TOTAL70C co-extrusion uses up to 75% PCR content while maintaining full structural and weather performance.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where are REHAU profiles manufactured?
REHAU profiles are extruded in REHAU’s European manufacturing plants (primarily Germany), then fabricated to size in the UK by approved REHAU partners. The combination delivers German-engineered consistency with UK lead times and local supply.
What’s the difference between TOTAL70 and GENEO?
TOTAL70 is a 70mm multi-chamber uPVC profile with conventional steel reinforcement — the workhorse for mainstream casement specifications. GENEO is a fibre-composite (RAU-FIPRO) profile that achieves Passivhaus certification at U-values down to 0.73 W/m²K and RC2/RC3 burglary resistance, all without any steel reinforcement. GENEO is the premium spec; TOTAL70 is the cost-effective workhorse.
Is REHAU more expensive than Liniar?
Generally, yes — particularly the GENEO and Heritage VS systems. Liniar competes strongly on mainstream casement and tilt-turn at lower price points. REHAU is the spec of choice when Passivhaus certification, conservation-area heritage detailing or fibre-composite security is required. Contact us for project-specific pricing.
Are REHAU windows good for conservation areas?
The REHAU Heritage Vertical Slider is purpose-engineered for the UK conservation market — with three sash size options, deep bottom rails, triple brush seals and full compatibility with traditional sash furniture (sash horns, astragal bars, brass pulleys). It’s the most period-correct uPVC sash window available, and the spec of choice when conservation officers are strict.
What warranty applies to REHAU profiles?
REHAU profiles carry a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty against discoloration and degradation. Hardware (locks, hinges, gaskets) carries separate component warranties — speak to our team at point of quotation for the full schedule.
Do REHAU windows meet Passivhaus standards?
Yes — GENEO and ARTEVO are certified by the Passivhaus Institute. They’re the standard specification for Passivhaus and zero-energy projects in the UK.
Can I get REHAU windows in colours other than white?
Yes — over 170 RAL colour options are available across the range, with foiled, painted and bonded laminate finishes. Anthracite Grey, Chartwell Green, Black, Cream and the full woodgrain range are stocked / standard order.
