Exterior-grade boards are made with UV stabilisers and hold their colour far better than a painted timber equivalent, which needs redoing every few years. Very dark shades on a south-facing elevation will shift more over time than a pale one. Interior wall panels are not UV stabilised and should not be used outside.
Wash it down once or twice a year with warm soapy water and a soft brush, and rinse off. That is the whole job — no sanding, priming or repainting, and nothing to rot at a cut end. Avoid pressure washing close up and keep abrasive pads and solvent cleaners off the surface.
A grab or panel adhesive, run in vertical beads about 300mm apart on the back of the board, then pressed firmly to a clean, dry wall. On battens you can pin or staple instead. Avoid solvent-based adhesives — they attack PVC. Clear silicone goes in the groove separately for wet areas.
Our panels carry a 10-year guarantee, and with normal care they last well beyond it. There is no grout to discolour or crack, no sealant line to redo, and the colour is printed under a protective layer rather than painted on. A damaged board can be replaced on its own without disturbing the rest of the wall.
